This is likely my last blog entry of 2005. Today, Cindy and I will be heading down to Duncan to bring in the new year with some friends we should see more often. In fact, one of my resolutions for 2006 is to see my friends more often.
It’s been an exhausting year for us, and for many of our friends. Among my little band of brigands, I think there is a consensus that this year suck-diddly-ucked more than years past. Of course, the year wasn’t without its happy shiny moments, the most notable being the birth of Chris and Traci’s screaming little poop factory.
I tend to get very contemplative at year’s end. I start thinking about all the things I did wrong or could have done better, about all the opportunities I let slip by, and the risks I didn’t take. I take an inventory of all the things that went right and wrong and why, and I start looking ahead to a better new year, striving to put right what once went wrong and hoping each time that my next leap will be the leap home. But like most people, my resolutions get off to a good start, but eventually end up sidelined and winded.
So, this year, I’m not going to say what my resolutions are for 2006 (aside from the one I mentioned in the first paragraph, that is). Instead, I’m going to wait until the end of 2006, and then tell you which ones I did and did not accomplish. Although, over the course of a year, you should be able to get a decent idea of what I’m up to, providing I update the blog more often (which I really should do). Yeah, I know, that’s quite a wait, and I can’t promise it’ll be worth it. All I can say is that that is what I’m doing.
Happy New Year to you all, and I’ll see you in 2006!

Good luck with your secret resolutions; although, keeping them secret sucks for me: I usually copy mine from everybody else.
Well, I haven’t made a resolution to hold to that, so I could reveal as much or as little as I want to at any time.
