I was born in Bangkok, Thailand. I was an Air Force brat, and at the age of two, my family and I moved to Tampa, Florida. The only thing I remember about living in Florida is sticking my finger in a fan, and bugging my mom to show me how to whistle (I couldn’t do it then, and I’m not good at it now). I’ve also lived in Kaiserslauten, Germany, and various Oklahoma towns and cities: Altus, Durant, Oklahoma City, Chickasha, Stillwater, and Del City. Yep. I’ve seen more than my fair share of Oklahoma…because of a gypsy curse, I suspect.

I have a B.A. in English from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, in Chickasha. That’s where I met Cindy, and we got married over Spring Break of ‘98 in Las Vegas, NV, at the Chapel of Love in a ceremony that lasted eight minutes. Woo-hoo!

Our dog’s name is Hooper. He was named for the Richard Dreyfus character Matt Hooper in the movie Jaws. He is NOT, I repeat NOT, named for the Burt Reynolds movie Hooper.

I enjoy camping, drinking way too much coffee, and hanging out with my friends. I especially like it when I can get all three of these activities together. I love to travel, but haven’t had the money for it in a long while. I’m a big fan of The Simpsons and Futurama, and the original Star Wars Trilogy. But, come on, who isn’t? Only Nazi-Commies, that’s who.

I don’t live as close to some of my friends as I used to, so this blog is an attempt to keep them all informed about the doings a-transpirin’ in my life, share photos, and provide another way they can goof-off at work.

I am forever working on a bazillion different projects, but because I get bored or frustrated easily, many of them get shoved aside for years at a time. I’m trying to break myself of this. Eventually, I’ll have a Projects page where you can see what I’m working, so check back. I don’t know when I’ll get it done, but it’s on my Projects List.
